The LSE Office for University of London International Programmes Team

A large number of academic and administrative staff from LSE, colleges of the University of London and other universities work together to create and develop degrees, syllabuses, study materials and examinations for the UoL International Programmes, ensuring that they meet the University of London's standards.

The LSE Office for UoL International Programmes team, below, co-ordinate and support these efforts. They are:

Elizabeth Aitken -  Director of the University of London International Programmes at LSE

Director of the LSE’s Summer Schools and Executive Programmes, in mid-2015, Elizabeth was also appointed Acting Director for the UoLIP at LSE for two years. Elizabeth has developed the LSE’s Summer School programme from an intake of just under 1000 students to what is today one of the largest and most successful of its kind in the world, attracting more than 5,000 students from 119 different countries.  As director of the SSEP, she has also been responsible for establishing the LSE-PKU Summer School in Beijing, whilst successfully broadening the units’ portfolio of courses across executive and postgraduate education.

Russell Brooks - Deputy Director of the University of London International Programmes at LSE

Russell is the first point of contact at the LSE for new and existing EMFSS teaching institutions. He also has responsibility for business planning, finance and operations associated with the programme.

Professor Richard Jackman -  Interim Academic Director

Richard is an experienced Professor, belonging to LSE’s world-renowned Economics Department and is also the original founder of its Summer School and the ICEF Programme in Moscow. He brings his high-level academic experience of working with the Programme Directors on the Summer School to working with the Academic Coordinators and Department Heads in order to encourage further departmental engagement with the UoLIP.

Andrea Elsik  - Examinations and Reporting Manager

Andrea is responsible for the processes involved in the examinations conducted by LSE for UoL International Programmes.

Steve Bond - Learning Technology Manager

Steve is responsible for managing the educational resources within the Moodle Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) for the EMFSS programmes offered by the UoL International Programmes.

Academic Co-ordinators

A team of twelve LSE academics work with the Office as Degree Co-ordinators. Their main responsibility is to help ensure that academic standards in the degrees are maintained at the same level as degrees taken by internal students at LSE. Other responsibilities include reviewing degree structures, syllabuses and subject guides, and proposing subject guide authors and examiners.

All student administration for UoL International Programmes (including admissions, continuing registration, examination entries and transcripts) is carried out by the University of London
